Waiting...

I stare at the floor:
The doctors' office berber,
In typical blues and greys
With a pattern that downplays
       the stains...

I hear a child scream:
Immunization horror.
Wish I was immune to the sound
Of a fear that echoes
        my own...

I glance at the door:
The sterile white coat domain.
The clock ticks slowly and laughs.
And they call my name
      at last...

  1. This is a very accurate and humorous take on an experience we have all had. Well done.
