The Drawer

She tiptoes into the room
Careful not to wake him from
His dreams. He twitches and stirs;
She freezes, then quietly
Opens the drawer. CLINK! The leash.
Arf! Arf! Arf!  He runs to her.

Day 7. Prompt: write a poem describing a scene where two people interact without speaking. I took a little licence using my dog as one of the "people" but he thinks he's a person, so that should count.

  1. Well done with this prompt. Its simple and concise but says so very much; the entire story comes through beautifully. A sweet poem :-)

  2. Home run good! That's how it is every morning with Maggie and Mona Lisa (my yorkies). Love the pic!
